Fly

There are 2 companies that fly from San Jose to Tambor regional airport (the closest one to Batik Villas):

SANSA (www.flysansa.com)
Located in a separate terminal adjacent to the San Jose international airport.
NATURE AIR (www.natureair.com)
They fly out of Tobias Bolanos airport. A 20 minutes taxi ride from San Jose international airport.

There are daily flights which vary depending on the season. Tickets are available to purchase online from either airline. Please note that both companies can only take surf boards up to 7’0”, on a space available basis. It is also recommended that you check on luggage weight restrictions at the time you are making your flight plans.

Taxi

A rental service or a taxi can meet you at the Tambor airport. To get around Santa Teresa you can rent a car (Budget has a local office) or an ATV (quad).

Minivan

Several companies offer ground transfer from San Jose to Santa Teresa. It takes about 4 hours to get to Santa Teresa and you can take surfboards over 7’. We recommend Montezuma tours.

Car Rental

You can rent a car (4×4 strongly recommended, especially in the rainy season) at the San Jose airport, and most major companies will book your reservation on line. Drive to the port town of Puntarenas (1+hours), take the ferryboat to Paquera (1hour) and drive another 1 ½ hours to Santa Teresa.
