Very close in Hermosa:
Koji – possibly one of the best restaurants in Costa Rica. Incredible sushi and walking distance too.
Color cafe – great for breakfasts and lunch. 7.30am – 4pm…owned and run by a fabulous French chef too.
El Ray Patricio- Authentic tapas, created by a passionate Spanish couple who really know their paella and great Spanish wines too, open for lunch and dinners
T Parte 8 – Dinners, Thursday to Saturdays only….pizzas and pastas and more……and live music too.
A little further afield into Santa Teresa (in order of distance):
Rocamar Beach Lounge- north Santa Teresa. On the beach, amazing location. Breakfasts, lunch and dinner. Very good surf spot too. Sundays are Beach Family Gathering with puraSonica.com radio all afternoon.
Al Chile Viola- restaurant north Santa Teresa. Authentic Italian food.
Ambrosia Restaurant- Lunch and dinners. No reservations needed. They have just moved location further into Santa Teresa and a great option for families.
Pronto Italian- take away.. in the Plaza Kahuna, 15 minutes from Batik. Amazing take away meat and pesto lasagnes and much more.
Olam vegetarian restaurant, at Nautilus hotel Santa Teresa. Delicious.
Kika, Argentinean kitchen- only dinner after 18:30. Live music on Thursday nights.
Alma – delicious lobster on Mondays
OtroLado Lodge –Italian kitchen, homemade pasta and focaccia, great salads, open for breakfast and lunch only.
Habaneros Mexican Restaurant – on the beach at Playa Cielo hotel,Great frozen Margarittas!
Brisas del Mar – at Buenos Aires hotel. One of the best restaurants in town, with awesome vistas. Go for sunset! Open for lunch & dinner.
Amici – Italian restaurant and pizzeria
Chop it – salads, wraps and burgers, Playa Carmen mall. Amazing make your own salads / wraps and the best burgers in town.
Pizzeria El Pulpo – Argentinean pizza- Best pizza in town!! Express delivery service.

In Montezuma, but so worth the drive!:
Playa De los Artistas – beach front Italian restaurant in Montezuma. Amazing location, amazing food and amazing ambience
The best local Sodas, for authentic Costa Rican flavours:
Atardeceer – Manzanillo beach. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Amazing ceviche! Closed Mondays
Tiqicia – 100 meters past Super Hacienda. All day every day. Huge portions and great service.
Caracoles – Mal Pais beach. Incredible beach location but have patience as they take their time to serve food!
Mafra’s – Santa Teresa for great bread, take away pizza and Bombeloni’s!!
Ginger café – great breakfast and quick lunch, best cappuccino, sandwiches and great smoothies!
Mariane’s French bakery – the closest of the bakeries but closed on Mondays
The Bakery, at the cross roads, Playa Carmen.

Super Hermosa – The closest – 500 meters from Batik. Hours 7am – 7pm. Basic top up shop but no good alcohol or fresh produce.
Super La Hacienda- approx 10 min drive. Hours: approx 7:30am- 8pm. No fresh meats.
Super Ronny – 2- 12 min drive. Hours:7:30am- 9pm. Fresh produce and generally the best range of goods here.
The Green World Store – 15 min drive. Hours 8am – 6pm Mon – Sat. Fruit and veg, with some organic produce
Saturdays is also the Organic Market from 3pm in Santa Teresa. Check with Dahlia / Jez regarding its location as it sometimes moves around and get there early.
